The controlled descent device ABS 4 W is a revolutionary advancement on the ABS 3a WH. Developed for the rescue of 2 persons simultaneously. The double brake system removes the force on the brakes and minimizes the abrasion on the rope.
During the descent process, the centrifugal brake keeps the device at a constant speed during the entire descent. With the help of the new deviation point on the device, the descent speed can be regulated.
The ABS 4 is the ideal device for self-rescue of 2 persons/multiple evacuations or for training measures.

The BISON ABS 4 is a controlled descent device designed for the rescue of two persons simultaneously. It features a double brake system that removes the force on the brakes and minimizes the abrasion on the rope. During the descent process, the centrifugal brake keeps the device at a constant speed during the entire descent. With the help of the new deviation point on the device, the descent speed can be regulated.
The device is made of aluminum housing and uses IKAR kernmantle rope with a diameter of 10.5mm DIN 1891. The nominal load is 200kg and the minimum load is 70kg. The proof load is EN 341:250kg and 1496:300kg. The static proof load is 20kN.
The BISON ABS 4 can handle a maximum descent height of 200m at a speed of 1.5m/s. It has a lowering rope of KMS 105 EN 1896:1998 A. The device can handle 3800 descent meters with a nominal load of 200kg and 11000 descent meters with a minimum load of 70kg.
The device meets the following standards: EN 341:2011/1A and ANSI/ASSE Z359.4-2013. The model number for the device is 42-ABS 4 W.
