The insertion process involves holding the earplug flange between the thumb and forefinger, inserting the closed tip end of the earplug well inside the ear canal while gently pulling the top of the ear up and back, and pressing on the flexible stem with a forward, up-and-down motion and a final twist. An acoustic and visual check should also be performed to ensure a proper fit.

Training and Proper use :
Insertion: Hold earplug flange between thumb and forefinger. Insert closed tip end of earplug well inside the ear canal while gently pulling the top of the ear up and back as shown. Press on the flexible stem with a forward, up-and-down motion, and a final twist.
Acoustic Check: In a noisy environment, with earplugs inserted, cup hands over ears and release. Earplugs should be blocking enough noise so that covering them with hands does not result in a significant difference. If the proper fit is not obtained, move to a quiet location, and repeat fitting instructions.
Visual Check: If properly fitted, the ends of the earplugs should not be visible to someone looking at you from the front. If either or both earplugs do not seem to be fitted properly, move to a quiet location, and repeat fitting instructions.
